Technical Training

As communities lose confidence in all levels of government and their ability to lead, manage and deliver on their responsibilities and commitments, let alone on their election promises, so people will begin to look to private enterprise for solutions.  We need to open the discussion on the re-establishment of Technical Training Guilds to manage a suite of apprenticeship programmes.  The single-minded focus of these guilds would be to train, prepare and introduce skilled artisans and technicians to the market, for employment in the Southern Cape Corridor.  Areas of focus for these Guilds should include marine engineering, aquaculture, silviculture, metallurgy and fabrication, hydrology and desalination, alternative energy technologies, agri-processing, hydroponics and vertical production, and …
