Immediate and urgent attention must be paid to the progressive resolution of the long-standing impasse with local, regional and national government regarding the demarcation, allocation, protection and use of land for Forestry-related industries.  Private sector needs to drive this process in a sustained, strategic manner as the socio-economic context begins to favour the enterprise approach promoted by this site.  The economies of scope and scale created by the Corridor will go much of the way to re-ignite interest in this historical economic bedrock of our region.  In terms of the more profitable exploitation of down-stream, value chain opportunities in this sector, we must consider consolidating a service sector approach aimed at the servicing of international timber corporates represented in our region.
